13 OSSC Boys Honored Odyssey is very proud to recognize the 13 current OSSC players (And there were even more when you consider those who got their start in Odyssey) who were honored in Section III this fall for their accomplishments on the field. Particularly, the club salutes Sam Owens who was a senior leader on the State Champion Hamilton Central School team. Two of his teammates were also involved with OSSC, though, sadly, briefly, but whatever the club has contributed to their success, our hats are off to those boys! Ryan Spooner of Oneida is also a former OSSC player who spent a couple years with the club, and he is remembered fondly by the coaches who worked with him, and we are happy for his recognition this year. When you see these boys around the training facility, be sure to congratulate them. Andrew Debraggio and Steven Keil in particular are in the building quite a lot, as they work with the U12 and U14 boys as assistant coaches, Andrew in his second year of such volunteering. To a man, the names on this list have been constant club members for significant numbers of years. Steven, again, and Jerod Gibson-Faber have been in the club longer than most of the Odyssey coaches! This group has worked hard, endured the early years of the boy’s side of the club, and now earned a bit of well-deserved recognition. What is exciting is that these boys are proving what’s possible for OSSC players to acheive, and the younger boys can aspire to meet, and hopefully exceed, the accompishments of this group of older players. With the new programming like ODA, and more boys joining each year, the atmosphere around the club becomes more and more conducive to greater development, and the sky is quite literally the limit for the players coming along in the footsteps of these players.
